It would not activate and said the product key has already been activated the maximum number of times. After paying for , I tried to activate Office; same error about the license being used too many times.

So I uninstalled Office in control panel and downloaded and installed again. But it again defaults to the old HUP license. Tried to change the license, and it says it couldn’t find any other Office licenses associated with my email address. Of course, the Office subscription is associated with the same email address. Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. I’ve done that but it still defaults to this HUP license. Also reinstalled Windows and signed in with my Office account. Same problem. Honestly, if this doesn’t get fixed soon, will have to cancel Office and return this new Surface tablet.

It’s shouldn’t be this hard. I contacted Microsoft support and an analyst remoted on and uninstalled the Store apps and then did something in command prompt to completely uninstall the store apps. That seems to have worked and I can use the Office apps that I purchased offline with no problems.
