Let’s take a look at how you can download the Netflix app on Windows There are two ways to download the Netflix app on your Windows computer – you can either download it from the Windows Store or get it from the Netflix website. With a single click, you may download Netflix movies for offline viewing. On a PC, tablet, or laptop with Windows 10, you can watch while on the move or without an internet connection as well. Download Netflix from Microsoft Store by following these steps:. Which is saying that the current app is still the Windows 8. In the near future Netflix will be releasing the Windows 10 mobile app for devices running Windows Yes, the current windows phone app is the 8.

The Mobile version sorely needs and update. Especially for Windows 10! My Continuum TV is waiting anxiously. So much for them updating their web player.

Why not the walking dead ;P. I wasn’t sure if Netflix was going to update their app. That’s not good. Windows 10 Mobile is coming. Read the article. As it says in the article this is a UWP app. They just haven’t released the mobile version yet. My guess would be all the code to let it run on a phone is actually in the PC app, there are just things they’re fixing before they allow it to download on phones. Yes, we need to keep educating on this, otherwise the comment section here will look like this for every new UWP app released on Desktop first – and that will be quite a few.

One big reason why Netflix in particular would need to spend more time on the mobile version? Not to mention the hardware and use cases are significantly different. You use the same core functionality of the application, but you tailor the UI and how you want people to use the application by device type, screen size, etc. This is what Netflix is doing.

They started with desktops and tablets because that is a much larger user base than phones. The larger screens are also used more for viewing. I’ve never watched an movie on my phone and rarely even a sitcom. Did you not even read the title? Nice blind and useless comment. What happened with the “code once, release to everyone” mantra? It happened that MS gave developers freedom.

They can realease to any platform with very little effort using the UWP framework but they can do it step by step instead of all at once. Freedom is a good thing. I’m a developer, I assure you that developing for every device has never been so easy and unified till today, this really is impressive. Daniel Rubino needs to write a post and stick it to the front page of Windows Central. Clearly you don’t understand what is UWP at all. Is not the same app, just they share almost the same code so developers can develop faster.

Not all apps are the same even on UI Look at Pandora for Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 , others can be almost equal, but depends on what the developer wants to do, and that means the day the both apps are published on the store can be different if they pass through the store check first.

There’s too many people ignoring what UWP is. Hope you are not one of those anymore m8. If it’s coming then why is it such a big issue? This was Microsofts plan. Have them target the desktop and then they would eventually give in to making a mobile version, because why not. You are assuming that mobile is a big deal to developers, when its the desktop that has the market they want to target. I’d rather them design properly than give us a half-assed effort.

In the future, we could even see the mobile versions released first, like you say it depends on the market the developer is going for.

There are some differences on mobile that have to be handled. It’s fine that desktop is released first and that doesn’t mean mobile isn’t happening. Mobile will likely have a different UI, for example, on most universal apps.

You don’t have a clue. Near future means Posted via the Windows Central App for Android. If you prepare for it can only be positive if the launch earlier. The base code is already there so it cant be much work that is left. I think they are in a fine-tuning and tweaking fase. My only real issue with the current app when used on my desktop PC is that the mouse cursor isn’t automatically hidden when the mouse is idle.

I have to move it to the right edge of the screen to get it out of the way. Hopefully, they can correct this in the new version. Had this issue using VLC, had to close bittorrent, that solved the problem. Do a google search and the result should come up. It is also caused by other types of programs running in background, some you can just minimize to systray, other to close. Hope this helps. Actually, if you do one click on the screen it will hidden all.

The one problem is that can be a little buggy sometimes, but it works. Hmmm, I just tested this again last night with no other apps or programs running. When I tried the same with the Netflix app, the onscreen play controls would come and go with the click or movement of the mouse, but the cursor always stayed on the screen no matter how long it had been since the last mouse usage. Talked with VUDU customer support as well. New Universal App is being designed that will work on Xbox One and all Windows 10 devices, desktop and mobile.

Expected very early next year. I’d guess as soon as they update the X1 for Universal support. Universal VUDU app would be sweet. They’re not only cross-platform but also part of Ultraviolet which gives streaming rights for physical media.

I don’t love their parent company WalMart, but that also means they have deep pockets to stay around for a long time. Maybe It’s time to release your WC universal App to store. Let this trend continue :v. I was just wondering about this yesterday when would we get the universal app because I’d like to use my phone wirelessly to stream movies to my bedroom tv and use headphones. Best update today hand down. Many times some people try to explain that Universal does not mean this December fool.

Hes definitely shown himself to be short sighted before. In a current state, they are still not working. We have yet to see any real major new player coming to Windows ecosystem with a universal app.

Netflix has been on Windows Phone for a long time, it was only a matter of time before they updated. So you can say that the UWP has worked already? How so? Of course big companies like Netflix will release an app. In case you didn’t know, a lot of these companies that are coming out with universal apps already had a WP app.

They should include Xbox One too. Loving this support for Universal Apps. Still no Chromecast support. No go. Luckily I got a spared iPhone lying around. Our Platform? This is my Platform and nobody else is allowed to use it, oh and yeah Netflix you are rubbish because i just watched a movie could you not of released it 3hrs 21 mins earlier Microsoft is rubbish Win 10 won’t work on my Nokia and its only 15 years old.

Universal App will never work No point in celebrating now. We’ll have to wait at least a year to see how the platform is playing out with developers and users. Why is the task switcher icon odd-looking?

It looks kind of cool Just mock up, I guess. When does windows 10 mobile come out to other devices? When can we use all these universal apps? If use the insider app you could to day XD. When you install windows insider app. Any hint of YouTube official app? Mytube metrotube tubcast etc. It’s all Google’s fault. Dude, use myTube. This app is 10 times better than the official YouTube app on Android. Try this once and come back here to thank me!

I tried to reinstall the app as well as run that troubleshooter. The only problem it keeps identifying is to reset the store app to resolve cache and licensing issue. I do that, it reopens the store but Netflix still won’t work and the same thing pops up on the troubleshooter. User Microsoft Agent.
